Job Description

Camden is our third and most prestigious of our hairdressing and barbering academies and was opened by World Renowned hair-up artist Patrick Cameron in July 2014.

At Camden we have the very latest designed and manufactured salon equipment from Beauty Star based in Bosco di Scandiano (RE), Italy. The salon is a designer salon and represents the London image for hairdressing. Camden has 29 hairdressing columns and a fully equipped training room with touch screen computing for the delivery of hairdressing and barbering theory. Camden is also the venue for our International students who also wish to study hairdressing and barbering in the UK.

Our staff at Camden are highly skilled talented hairdressers and barbers and have a passion for hairdressing.

We are recruiting for a Barbering Tutor to join our Camden Academy, on a permanent part time basis, 18 hours per week at the following times and days:

Thursday - 9-5 (7.5 hrs)

Saturday - 9-5 (7.5 hrs)

One evening 4-9pm

5 hrs admin time
Pulling on your own expertise, you will be responsible for delivering and assessing the Barbering NVQ and Barbering Diploma programmes to LHAA Apprenticeship and Adult learners. By placing them at the center of everything you do, you will help them succeed and achieve outstanding learning and assessment outcomes. To succeed, you will need these important qualities:

Teaching and assessments

  • Plan and deliver a training programme that ensures robust ILP, adheres to LHAA's scheme of work and the Education inspection framework standards
  • Ensure that apprenticeship standard requirements, including functional skills are met, ensuring learner progress is effectively reviewed and tracked to ensure timely and overall completion
  • Ensure learner readiness for end point assessment (EPA) and set SMART targets on action plans to support them to achieve
  • Support employers in understanding their responsibility relating to on and off the job training
  • Ensure all learner records and reporting is kept up to date and provided in a timely manner to support management reporting and audit requirements
  • Undertake assessment, portfolio evidencing and tracking of achievement using the LHAA e-portfolio and tracking systems
  • Where applicable, generate teaching and learning resources as required or use the LHAA resources
  • Provide robust and impartial information, advice, and guidance to learners throughout their learner journey including exit advise in relation to employment opportunities

Quality Assurance

  • Participate in LHAA quality assurance activities working closely with the quality team.
  • Ensure CPD is planned and reflects Company and stakeholder requirements as guided by the
  • quality team
  • Manage learner feedback through learner surveys as per LHAA requirements and achieve overall 95% learner satisfaction
  • Liaise with the Head of Teaching and Learning, Lead IQA regarding audit and compliance of reviews, ILPs and shared resources
  • Follow up learner absences and ensure timely communication with employers on learners' absences, progress, and achievement

Generic Deliverables

  • Deliver KPI's in line with company expectations (Register, marking policy, learner satisfaction)
  • Complete regular and ad hoc reporting as and when requires
  • Positively promote the ethos, culture, and development of the LHAA/LBTA in every aspect of its business
  • Contribute to the commercial income of the Academy salon, meeting salons targets
  • Conduct your role in line with the behaviour aligned with our company values
  • Comply with and follow all processes within The Safeguarding Policy, ensuring safely of all learners is paramount
  • Comply and follow all processes within the Health and Safety Policy
  • Comply and follow all processes within the IT Policy and, Data Protection and Information Security Policy

Essential Criteria

  • TAQA
  • AET level 3
  • Minimum 3 years teaching experience
  • Holds minimum level 2 barbering qaulification
