EPA 4 Health is committed be consistent in our assessment practice, make sure that apprentices meet the rigorous requirements of the standard before deeming the Apprentice fully competent to work on the science sector. As an Science end point assessor, you will be responsible for undertaking assessments against the ST1046 Science Manufacturing Technician Standard for either an aseptic or biotechnology pathway. You will provide technical advice to the EPA Operations team and to contribute to the development, delivery of the end point assessment and associated materials. We expect you to be qualified and experienced in the pharmacy aseptic or biotechnology sector and we will provide comprehensive training to ensure you have all the knowledge, skills, and tools to undertake the role with professionalism and integrity.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide advice and support as a subject sector expert to the operational team.
- Meet the turnaround times within the service-level agreement/contract with regards to planning, operational activities, reports, and submissions of assessment outcomes.
- Report all risks, issues and concerns encountered during the end-point assessment to EPA 4 Health, including any suspected malpractice/maladministration.
- Produce EPA reports and associated evidence that is accurate and of high quality.
- Undertake regular training and sector updating associated with the role and the EPA business.
- Maintain and provide evidence of ongoing, relevant Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
- Raise any conflicts of interest timely and to the appropriate person.
- Contribute to the external quality assurance activities undertaken by OFQUAL.
Personal Specification:
- Occupationally competent as a Scientist/Science Technician with at least 3 years’ experience.
- Qualified Assessor or willing to work towards a qualification.
- Evidence of commitment to maintaining sector and apprenticeship expertise and undertaking regular CPD.
- Relevant and up to date experience in the science sector.
- Knowledge of technical content of occupational competence and of assessment methods.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and accessible manner.
- An ability to demonstrate high levels of professionalism and integrity.
- A proven ability to manage time effectively and meet established deadlines.
- Ability to respond to changing circumstances for individuals and that of employers/apprentices.
- Ability to undertake non bias assessment.
- An ability to use technology and different software packages.
- A solid understanding of Health and Safety requirements and the structure and workings of the science sector.
