Are you a Forestry and Arboriculture specialist with experience in delivering assessments and leading a team?

Would you like to be involved with supporting the delivery of the 0174 Level 3 Forestry and Arboriculture Technicals qualification?

We are looking for a dynamic and industry competent person to join us as a Principal Examiner for the Summer 2024 assessment series and beyond. The Principal Examiner is a key part of the delivery of technical qualification and is involved in every aspect of the assessment production process.  

The role will include taking a lead role in the assessment production for the externally assessed examination series. Working alongside other subject matter experts writing and editing assessment content and leading a team through the annual cycle of standardisation, marking and awarding  

This examiner role gives you the opportunity to work alongside your current job, to build additional income with competitive daily rates, and to continue to develop your own skills and development.  

As a Principal Examiner for the Level 3 Forestry and Arboriculture Technical qualification, you would need to have knowledge and experience to write assessment content around areas including:

  • Safe working with equipment and machinery
  • Estate maintenance skills
  • Soil and plant science
  • Tree pests and diseases
  • Methods for felling trees
  • Arboriculture skills
  • How environmental conditions impact trees
  • The development of woodland types and management systems
  • Tree and shrub pruning
