Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker Assessor to join our team. The successful candidate will hold a JNC-approved Level 6 qualification in youth work (please verify this before application) and demonstrate a steadfast commitment to supporting and mentoring young people.


Key Responsibilities

1. Assessments

    • Assessment A – Conduct a remote professional discussion, underpinned by the apprentice’s portfolio of evidence.
    • Assessment B – Carry out a workplace observation followed by supplementary questions.
    • Deliver both assessments for an apprentice on the Youth Support Worker Level 3 apprenticeship standard.

2. Documentation and Grading

    • Complete all required SSES documentation accurately and on time.
    • Determine and record final grades in accordance with organisational and regulatory requirements.

Person Specification
Essential Desirable
JNC-approved Level 6 youth work qualification Prior assessor experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
Experience mentoring or supervising young people
Willingness to travel for observations (full driving licence, own transport, and business-use insurance)
Proficiency with Microsoft Teams
Strong IT skills, including confident use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve common technical issues independently
